Taipei is known for its multitude of oddly themed eateries: the Toilet Restaurant, Hello Kitty Café, Jail restaurant and this hospital-inspired cafe-cum-bar, DS.
Here the waitresses all sport well-starched nurses uniforms, and play silly drinking games with customers. Wheelchairs, crutches, beds and other medical paraphernalia lie scattered around, and drinks are served from IV bags, test tubes or direct from syringes into your mouth.
It’s claimed that the restaurant owner set up the establishment to express thanks to a local hospital where he was treated.
