The legend of a mortal king, half-divine and half-human, sets the scene – literally – with two enormous three-tonne Gilgamesh statues gazing down over diners. And every available surface is smothered with intricate decoration: from carved seats to marble pillars, hand-carved teak wall panels and elaborate ceilings.

A retractable roof also reveals al-fresco dining. The food is Asian fusion from an open-hatched kitchen, and the bar resonates with ambient DJ grooves.
