Either way, the Icelandic Phallological Museum is a unique location containing over a hundred penises and penile parts; one for each of the country’s mammals. They also hold a similar number of artistic representations and other ‘practical utensils’ related to the theme.

As the owners hasten to point out, phallology is an ancient science, and one that spills over into history, art, psychology, literature and other artistic fields. And while we sincerely doubt that the average visitor is there for academic purposes, you certainly can’t fault the collection’s thoroughness. Especially given that they hold a legally certified token for a future Homo Sapiens specimen!
