Noboarding, Canada
Designed in Canada for the maddest of off piste fanatics, the Noboard resembles something between a regular and swallow-tailed snowboard. But it has one big difference: no bindings.
The Noboard replaces bindings with a grip pad that allows you to hop on and off whenever you fancy, eliminating the chance of getting stuck in deep powder. The only element of security is the surfboard-esque leash, which makes for an unusual ride, more akin to skateboarding or surfing than conventional snowboarding.
The Noboarding scene has been steadily growing over the past decade. It’s now increasingly common in powder-rich US and European resorts as well as in Canada, and a recent collaboration with Burton has created the Nofish Noboard and the Noboard kit, which can transform any snowboard into a Noboard.
