Moody, bewitching and beguiling Edinburgh has been the inspiration for and home of many great authors. For bookworms, the city’s Writer’s Museum is a must.

The museum chronicles the lives of three of Scotland’s most treasured writers – Robert Louis Stevenson, Sir Walter Scott and Robert Burns. It houses old printing presses, artefacts and personal belongings of the writers and even a plaster cast of Robert Burns’ skull.

The Writer’s Museum is found in Lady Stair’s Close. More information can be found on the website.
