Minack Theatre, Cornwall

We all know that in the good old days before television, people had to make their own entertainment. But few were as ambitious in their endeavours as Rowena Cade.

Almost single-handedly, this feisty Cornish lady worked for decades crafting an open-air theatre from a cliff-side near her home in Porthcurno.

Now, her legacy is a quirky and rather stunning stage overlooking the Atlantic ocean. The Minack Theatre a jewel in the theatre crown of Cornwall which entices thousands of visitors each year.

And if the play they’re watching doesn’t happen to rock their world, at least the amazing view will.
