Built on a ledge so narrow, this fishing village has no room for a pavement, let alone a road.
Crovie is one row of houses squeezed between the sea and the bottom of the cliffs in Moray, Scotland.
Residents steer wheelbarrows and trolleys along the footpath to take heavy items to their homes. Cars can only reach the edge of the village: OK if you live at that end but a trek for those at the far end.
There is a visitor carpark on top of the cliffs with a great view over the houses, which are all built side-on to minimize erosion.
Similar villages nearby have facilities: Pennan featured in the film Local Hero, actually has a promenade and an Inn. Meanwhile Gardenstown is positively buzzing with several rows of houses, shops, restaurants and a hotel.
