Meribel’s Wacky Races, France
What do you get when you cross a scavenger hunt, a fancy dress competition and a series of messy, silly and sometimes scary dares? Meribel’s Wacky Races!
The races are the stuff of resort legend, and tie in nicely with Meribel’s Altitude Festival. Every March season workers and holiday makers come together and race in teams around the mountain. In addition to having to bring back a number of random items (interestingly shaped potato anyone?), teams have to get to check points where tasks can range from custard pie racing to wasabi powder snorting to mountain top flashing.
In addition to these challenges, points are awarded for the most original and unusual fancy dress costumes. Previous years have seen the full KISS line-up, a shark and a man covered in cling film.
