Bathtubbing Championships, Wales

We can’t resist a good bathtub race here at Quirky Guide. After all, what’s not to like? Easy to capsize vessels, fancy dress and lots of novice sailors out for nothing more than a good giggle.

And it’s all held in beautiful Welsh countryside, on Abernant lake near Llanwrtyd Wells. The 2011 championships take place on Sunday the 9th October, from 10am.

It’s easy to register on their website, or sign up on the day. And there will be time for a quick practice before the races begin.
