Beer just goes hand in hand with some games: darts, pool and well, drinking games, among them. But it’s not so common to legally mix alcohol with the typical sports of our teenage years – like ping pong, for example.

But in Berlin, the two have sat comfortably alongside each other for some time. And nowhere is this more apparent than at all-night ping pong bar, Dr Pong in Prenzlauer Berg. It’s a unfussy place with many tables, around which punters constantly circulate.

Despite its simplicity, the bar has proved a huge hit. And the idea has just emigrated to Australia where you can find a new Dr Pong bar in Sydney. All in all, it’s one of the most relaxed evenings out you can imagine. So grab a paddle, grab a beer and join in.
