Next time you visit Amsterdam, why not ditch the dingy hotels and budget hostels and opt for the (only slightly more) expensive and much more intriguing option.

Qbic Hotels offer ‘Cubi’ rooms; futuristic, cube shaped rooms, with double beds, a bathroom and desk all incorporated into one small square area.

Like a more luxurious version of Japan’s capsule hotels, these cubes boast LCD TVs, high speed internet and extra long beds, with bathrooms kitted out with designs by Philippe Starck.

Perhaps the quirkiest thing about these cubes are that each one is bathed in a different colour light, meaning that you are free to pick the ambience and atmosphere that suits you. Choose from Mellow Yellow, Red Romance, Deep Purple Love and more!
