Hamster Hotel, France

Ever wondered what it would be like to be a hamster? No, me either. But I can’t help be curious about La Villa Hamster in Nantes where guests can eat, sleep – and exercise – like a hamster.

Yes, La Villa Hamster, an eighteenth-century gite, is done out like an over-sized hamster’s cage. There is sawdust, hay, a water tube, a bowl of grain, a ladder up to a raised bed, tunnels, rodent toys – and a giant hamster wheel where you can run to your heart’s content.

Furry head masks with ears are provided too if you really want to look the part.

But perhaps the most bizarre thing about this hotel is the number of people who want to stay there. It’s almost always fully booked.
